We are StakeCat

We are a diversified group of solostakers with experience running machines on many networks ranging from projects such as Celestia to Obol, Rocketpool to Elixir.

We don’t use AWS/Google cloud, we prioritise running our own hardware locally following the ethos of the solostaker.

How it began…

We all met serendipitously on discord servers related to crypto projects. Some of us engaged in supporting newcomers on established networks while exploring the newest tech just launching.

GLCstaked began writing guides in early 2022 to promote node running and validation on a host of networks. As this was a quiet time in the market he encouraged some internet friends to get on board. We ran Gnosis and RocketPool nodes, participated in the Celestia incentivised testnet and ran on Eigenlayer’s Active Validator Service (AVS) Goerli testnet.

Initially, we played around on testnets as individuals but some chance led us into the Obol discord and we were pulled together as cluster. Some of us formed the name Obol ar Líne in a tribute to founder Oisín and some of our group’s Irish heritage. We launched our first DVT testnet cluster (Athena) in late 2022.

We created some DANK MEMES.

We translated Obol docs to the Irish language, achieved Technical Ambassador status, and won a Grafana dashboard competition.

We now run an Obol Ethereum mainnet validator with rewards pointed to Eigenlayer which has had almost perfect attestation rates since inception.

What’s next?

We intend to support EigenLayer on the launch of their AVS. We believe that Eigenlayer is one of the most important projects to launch in crypto since Ethereum itself.

Our focus will be on furthering decentralisation.
